question and answer...

I was having some issues trying to pick something to blog about. I have been in a bit of a blogging slump as of late. Then it dawned on my that I had completely abandoned my ' The Book of Questions' posts. Do any of you even recall those? They have been around since the beginning of this little blog o' mine. Since I have quite a few more followers then I had the last time I wrote one of these posts, click here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and finally here. Now you should be all caught up...and exhausted from all of that clicking.

Alright, *drum roll while I flip through the book*...

Question #67: Would you risk your life for someone close to you out of feelings of obligation or out of feelings of love? Would it matter if you could refuse without anyone ever knowing? What if the person asked you not to risk your life?

Answer: Whoa. That is a heavy question. So, here it goes! There are a few people in my life who I would risk my life for out of love (the majority of my family. However, I am only going to talk about two of them.) Truly. See this guy right here?
He happens to be my oldest brother. He also happens to be the father of my favorite (and only) niece. If it came down to something happening to him or me being able to step up and willingly risk my own life for him, I would. Why would I do that? See that gorgeous four year old in the above picture? That is my reasoning. She is four and she needs her daddy, she happens to be the biggest daddy's girl on the planet. Her whole world revolves around him. So out of my love for him AND her I would willingly risk my life to save his or hers. No obligation necessary.

It would make zero difference to me if they would find out or not. I would do it if they find out, and I would do it if I knew they would never find out. Hence, the act being done out of love and not out of obligation.

Would it make a difference if I was asked not to risk my life by these two people? Nope. Not in the slightest. Bug is the most important person in my life. She is the most important person to much of my family. There is nothing that I would not do for her. I want her to grow up safe, healthy, and strong. That is my biggest concern, her health and her happiness.

Ok, now you all know what to do! I want to read your answers to this question! So, is there anyone in YOUR lives that you would risk your life for? Why or why not? Let's get this discussion going in the comments section my friends...

Yes.

I would risk my life for any one of my family members or their husbands. I have two older sisters who are married and I would replace their death with mine in a heartbeat. Without those men my sisters would be so heartbroken. I would die for my Mom or my Dad and not even question it. They are my family. BOTTOM LINE. I don't care if they find out or not, because like you said it's out of love not obligation.

I loved this post. NO LIE.

Definitely my husband. I couldn't live without him.

And then there is the long list of family that I would also do this for. But I won't go into further detail.

Ditto to the finding out part. It's about love.

I would in a heartbeat, for either of my two younger siblings or my older sister. I am intensely defensive of all of them, and if someone threatened them, or if they were in danger, or if there was a way to help them out of a bad situation, I would do what I had to.

Mostly my reasoning is because I feel like their protector I guess... but I mean that in a seriously good way. I WANT to protect them. I know they can't help themselves as much as I can help them, so if I had to, I would do it for them. :)

First people to come to mind is my family, cause well, they're my family. I'd do that for them, twice.

Also good friends. They deserve to be saved as well. I don't think it matters if they know or not. If I can save them, or try to, then I'll do it. And if someone asked me not to? Well that depends entirely on the situation. If there was something I could do that could help them, then yes, I'd do it. You are in that list, obviously.

This is a very loaded question. And it kinda makes me wish my family wasn't so big.
All of my brothers have baby girls, and I know I would risk my life for any of them. Out of love, of course. I don't think I'd feel obligation at saving the lives of any of my family. Well, except the ones that don't like me. (Family Feud reality style anyone?)

I would risk my life for my children...the ones I birthed and the ones I teach. I have actually stepped in front of one of my students to prevent him from getting his ass kicked. I didn't think about what the other punk would do to me...if he wanted B. he would have to go through me.

I would risk my life for my mom, dad, sister, neice, nephew, and my dear friends.

I don't care if anyone watched or not.

I would give my life out of love, not obligation.

i would definatley take the place of any of my sibilings, parents, my boyfriend, or my best friend michelle. I think it's all about love in this life and if it weren't for these few people i would not be who i am today. also, i know how important these people are to other people. these people are not only the loves of my life but they touch other people's lives as well. and that a lone is worth stepping in for their death. as far as them finding out. i don't think i'd want them to find out i was taking their spot. knowing these people pretty dang well, they would sincerly talk me out of it. however stubborn i may be. and i would never feel obligated to tell them or get some sort of reward. it's all about the love. i loved this post, it was very thought provoking and made me really think about what's important in my life. thanks for that!

Woah this is definitely a heavy question.

I would say my brother as well. He might get annoying but, I really could NOT imagine living without him.

I sooo remember these and I've missed these posts!

I wouldn't even hesitate to answer this question. I'd die for my family, Vito, or my best friends. They are the most important things in my life and I would never question myself when it came down to it. I love them and seeing them happy and safe is what matters most to me. I wouldn't care if they knew, I'd actually rather them not know I had risked my life for them, because I would never want them to think they wished it would have been them or anything like that.

Good question! 8)

great blog ..

i would risk my life without a second thought out of love .. coz i believe the pain u'll feel if you didn't help will be unbearable ..

Well first and foremost I would give anything, especially myself to bring my sister back...It kills me that my nephew will grow up without his mother. Second, (because obviously the first can't happen..wishful thinking) would be my Mother because the loss of her would be devastating to my nephew after what he's already lost.

I would do it for family...like everyone else. It wouldn't matter if they would know or not. I would do it for a lot of people...especially a mother or a father. Great question Alex.

Yes I would do it for my family no questions ask..Although I hope and pray I would never have to. I have had many people step in my life and made HUGE sacrifices for me so I could only hope to repay them if something ever happened to one of them.

I would risk my life for those that I love- but then again you think.. what if the person you are saving would rather you didn't? It's more complicated than the answer I gave but I like to think I'd put others before me in a situation like that.

I would risk my life for Brody in a heartbeat!!

Heavy. Too heavy!

Your brother. But I really hope it wasn't a slow and painful thing because if it was I might be scared frozen. I can't imagine the mess that would be me though if he were to die.

whoooa.

I don't even know the answer to this question. it's like...really late so my brain isn't running that deep but I just wanted to give you a {double arm pump} for this post :)

This, my dear, is one of the many reasons why you are awesome. Your love and compassion makes my heart smile :)

I would risk my life for just about anyone in my family (yes, I said just about for a reason) and of course John because I would be a hot mess without him. I would do it out of love and it wouldn't matter if they knew or not. This is ridiculously difficult to answer, so I think I will stop there.

Love you, mean it!
