question and answer...
see this bed? Yeah...it isn't mine...but if it were it would be a 'no cuddle while sleeping' zone.
Okay 'fess up...are you a cuddler? Or are you a solo sleeper? Do tell...inquiring minds want to know!

birthday culmination...
So, the last post was about how I spent the day of my 24th...this one is about the evening...you know, the good stuff...
Jil, yours truly, and Bastina Balicious went to dinner. where did we get our grub on? oh you know Chili's. yep because it is GOOD and it makes my belly happy...
Bastina said that chili's makes her happy too. although for some reason when I snapped this photo she looked as though she was juuust about to break into tears...maybe she was just REALLY hungry.
ok...it is time I gave myself a taste of my own medicine (does that sentence even make sense?). anyways you guys get it, right? I love to post embarrassing pictures of the one's I love...so now I must post one of myself. yep. this is how I behave in public.
after our scrumptious dinner we headed downtown for some drinks (and by 'drinks' i mean half a beer for me and one margarita a piece for Jil & Bastina). yes I am a dude and I love a nice cold Bud Light...only from a bottle please!
mmm...mango margaritas are SO stinkin' yummy. hey! check out that ice cold Bud Light....guess whose that was?! also thanks Bastina for the purse...I heart it bad. and Jily gave me my name/picture blocks (which will soon have their own post).
we may be 'boring' but at least we think we are pretty dang fun! yep we basically rock at life. we give lessons if you want.
Maybe not the craziest birthday night ever. But it was still pretty great. I could not think of better people to have spent the evening with...love you girls!
And now...we are done with birthday posts. Hallelujah!

it's the great pumpkin patch charlie brown...
I live in Northern California in the middle of the sticks...we don't have much in the ways of entertainment...so we go to The Pumpkin Patch...and it is actually pretty fun. Especially for the kids (no not MY kids, although little Jimmy Choo was there to shield my eyes. i am talking about my niece and Jil's nephew)...yep two whole kids out of a group of eight...it was SO for the kids...
um. hi. this is THE most adorable thing ever. i think that Jordan & Jacob (friend o' the blog Jilian's nephew) are destined to be bff's...they are 100% partners in crime...
my mom always looks pissedspice in pictures. she was having fun though...i will swear to it.
if you look REALLY close you can see who won that bet...way to head your bets Jil...
as mentioned in a previous post...California girls will wear flip-flops in a flood if it came down to it. case and point. all three of us in a muddy, viney, pumpkin patch rockin' the flops...we rock at life ladies...
i love Jil's mom. Diane is the sweetest lady i have ever met...here she is managing the children while her daughter was off being highly inappropriate...
yep. she went there. and let me be the first to say that i love her for it...she was looking for one that was juuuussst right....
looks like she found it. this right here is reason #3,972 why we are friends...
after all of that running (and falling) the little man needed a little power nap to rejuvenate his crazy boyness...
man o' man i love this kid (oh and i AM talking about my niece, not my sunglasses. just to clarify). if you are wondering if she is saluting the flag...she wasn't. she was seeing how many 'heart-booms' she was having...
so there was this tire full of corn for the kids to play in. why that is supposed to be fun...don't ask...but the kids enjoyed it...and by kids I mean my brother Jon-than. more specifically he liked throwing unsuspecting adult victims into it...such as my mom...
and Bastina Balicious. Jacob then proceeded to fill her shirt with corn...see he really did need that power nap to recharge his boyness...
last but not least....our pumpkin haul. yes, we purchased quite a few. $30 bones worth to be exact...but they look so pretty on the porch...

happy birthday...
We didn't do anything too terribly exciting being that it was a Wednesday night and he didn't even get off work until 7:30!! We just had a family dinner to celebrate the three birthdays that happen this week! We had the best chicken marsala on the face of this earth (cooked by my other brother) and some cake! The cake had three candles on it...you know...one for me, one for Bastina, and one for my brother...guess who blew out all three? Yeah Jon-than did...so I was deprived of my birthday wish! Nice...punk-face!
while we were waiting for dinner to be ready Jil was schooling my niece in the ways of hula-hooping. She then continued to tell us that she won a hula-hooping contest in elementary school, yeah she hooped it up for a whole hour. true story. told you this picture would be on the blog Jil...haha love you!!
I need to take a photography class...because my pictures are SO not good. I look far from cute in this picture but it was the only one I took that night of the three of us...so up on the blog it goes. enjoy.
This is the my other brother who makes the best chicken marsala 'eva! He is also the father of the cutest niece on this planet...he obviously does not like looking at the camera...so I snapped one when he was mid-conversation!
Happy birthday Jon-than!!
Now I am off to go and enjoy the weekend! After Saturday I will be officially old...mourn for me please...
What are YOUR plans for the weekend?

observations and a confession...
they are also cute, practical, and warm...very important qualities...
so in my book o' fashion...leggings, no thanks, tights, yes please!
Unfortunately, there does seem to be a disturbing trend occurring on my Northern California college campus...and it is making me crazy...um. hi ladies...tights/leggings are NOT pants...and should not be worn as such. Tights belong under something like a dress...or at least something that covers your booty because most of the time when the sun hits them they are SEE THROUGH! As in I can see through them and check out your underwear, or lack of underwear, and I would rather not. kthanksbye!
Observation #2:
I love peacoats. I think I have had some type of peacoat ever since I started actually picking out my own clothes. I heart them bad. I really love that they are becoming popular because that means I have many more options to choose from, yay!
you will look a little foxy in it but, the peacoat was made for Movie Edward...the end.
Observation #3:
I am a California gal for life. I love this state...Northern California is a great area to live in (minus the 119 degrees temperature in the summer). We California natives rock our flip-flops year round...come rain or shine you can bet that the majority of females have flips on. there is nothing that cracks me up more than walking around on campus and seeing about 50 girls running around in a hat, jacket, scarf, umbrella, and flip-flops....we ALL do it! You just have to love us California Girls.
Observation #4:
Rolling backpacks have become the bane of my existence.
I understand that some people may have back issues that could make lugging around a heavy backpack pretty darn miserable...but c'mon! There is NO excuse for these things...they are ugly...the get in the way...and if one more person wheels over me with one of those things I am going to lose it! That is all.
Observation/Confession #5:
Uggs. Every woman on campus, or even in the area I live owns a pair. I am aware they are hideous. I am aware the people mock them (I am one of those people). I also am aware that they are not fashionable at all.
and even I admit they are not the cutest thing one could choose to cover her feet with. Yet, I still love them. They are warm, comfy, water-resistant, oh and did I mention they are comfy?! I own Uggs and sport them proudly.
Now for the confession...
I always swore to myself and to others that I would NEVER tuck my jeans into my Uggs...or bunch up my jeans at the top of them. In fact the night before I broke this rule I had JUST been discussing it with a friend of mine. That very next day I awoke to a freakin' monsoon outside my window and was insta-pissed because I knew that by the end of the day my jeans would be soaked. So, what did I do you may ask? I bunched my jeans into my boots...and yes, I am ashamed to admit this.
I solemnly swear that even though I gave in to the 'Ugg-Tuck' that I will never be caught wearing them with shorts or skirts. Trust.
Alright..fess up! What is a trend or observation that YOUare seeing that you love/hate? Do tell...

happy birthday...
Anywho...after months of attempts to convince this girl to go out and get smashed (because what else do you do when you turn 21?!) she ended up vetoing the booze and having a little VIP party at her apartment (and I use VIP loosely...because sometimes I need anagrams to make myself feel cool). The gathering consisted of my brother Jon-than, Bastina, her big sister Andrea, and yours truly.
the birthday girl in all her glory...
of course Sprinkle's were involved...Bastina's sister bought some of the mix and made some red velvet cupcakes...we all got candle in ours because Bastina, Jon-than, and myself all have birthdays this week...
this is Bastina's cupcake bringing sister...she also brought some party favors and some wine...ick...which technically Bastina is drinking illegally it was two hours until she ACTUALLY turned 21! oooh law breaker...i.am.so.telling.
some people wear their sunglasses at night...Bastina wears them in the kitchen at night...while chopping onions. am I the ONLY one who finds this hilarious?
srsly there is NO way I am the only one who finds this picture hilarious...she is crazy...but we love her...
And now....we get to the good stuff...
this is the look I was giving (yes I know I have a crown on my head) Bastina as she was trying to convince me to do my own cupcake tutorial...
and let's just say this was the end result...the middle portion is not for the faint of heart...so I shall spare you...
does anyone else wonder why every single picture I post of the brother and I...I am in a headlock? yep me too...
Bastina's sister brought along some party favors...which made us laugh and take about 100 pictures...I will let you see for yourself...
that's right...we all rocked the 'stache...and srsly we all looked like creepers...although the faces Andrea made she was the best creeper of them all...
I chose the gray 'stache to represent the fact that on Saturday I will officially be O-L-D...sad. Bastina so looks like a bad ass in this one, and trust me she is gangsta and will cut a biatch!
the brother did not find the 'staches as amusing as the rest of us...especially not as much as Bastina did that is for sure...
although, I think it kind of grew on him...aww cuteness...
Happy Birthday Bastina Balicious!

i want...
if only they didn't cost an entire arm AND a leg...
this coat from ModCloth, on my shoulders...
this of course I could afford and it is SOLD OUT...that always happens to me on ModCloth...I think I may have to keep checking back because I heart it bad...
and this gorgeous face on the pillow next to mine...
um. Rob? why are you so hottspice? and why can't you wash your hair and look like this on a daily basis? it would be lovely if you could work on that. oh, and then let's make out...kthanksbye!
So, what do you all want today? Do tell...
*Oh and a quick update, please go over to Busy Bee Lauren and read her amazing post here*
