i am just a tad odd...

Do y'all remember that time I blogged about my oddities? Yeah it was good times. I realized the other day that I had not even begun to cover all my little quirks. Also, I had promised that me listing out my strange ways would become a feature...so now it is! This post is going to focus on my OCD issues. Let's celebrate our quirks together...

Weird Thing #1:
Spicy food kills me. I have like the weakest spicy taste buds known to man. Which is odd because I come from a family of people who can totally handle the heat when it comes to spicy foods. Not this kid. Mild salsa makes me feel as though I just chugged a gallon of gasoline and tossed a match in my mouth. No lie. I have always been this way. However, it does not stop me from ordering food that I know will make my throat feel like Edwards' when he is inhaling the smell of humans (I just out-geeked myself. Stellar.) Anywho, on Saturday after going to see 'Avatar' I went out to eat with Bastina and my brother. I ordered the same thing I always get, honey-chipotle-chicken-crisper-tacos-of-epic-lovely-deliciousness-that-make-my-mouth-burn-for-hours-after. Yep. That is what I ordered. Even though I knew they would slay my mouth, I still consumed them. I have no regrets. They were fabulous...

Weird Thing #2:
I read A LOT. I mean I take a book with me everywhere I go. It is one of the reasons why all of my purses are the size of small islands, I need the room for book storage! Sometimes I take two if it is a long drive. I love books. True story. Throughout the day if I am reading I will pick my book up, read a few pages, stick my paperclip back on my reserved page (paperclips are THE best bookmarks. Do not judge me) and set the book down until I feel like revisiting it. However, I always read in bed before I fall asleep and I cannot just put my paperclip on a random page and say goodnight. I have to FINISH the chapter...even if I am thisclose to falling asleep with said book on my face, the chapter MUST be finished. What happens if I do not make it to the end of the chapter? No freaking sleep. Srsly. I will be wide awake until I head back and finish things up (that's what he told her *ahem*)...

Weird Thing #3:
I am going to talk about showering now. So if cleanliness offends you...do not read ahead. Do any of you have a 'shower system'? No I do NOT mean do you own a shower...I mean do you have a routine that is set in stone that you do once in the shower? Yeah, me too. I must do my shower routine in the proper order or else my day just cannot begin. Here is how it goes: shower on, super hot water, shave, wash hair, condition hair, face wash, then body wash. If I do ANY of these steps out of their usual order...I have to repeat them. Yes, I am aware I have a mild case of OCD thankyouverymuch. (Now if you don't mind, please STOP picturing me in the shower. Kthanksbye!)...

Weird Thing #4:
The other day I was reading Bastina's fabulous new blog, "Mildly Delightful" and something she did made me literally want to jump in my car, drive the 15 minutes to her house, tie her down, and use nail polish remover on her unwilling self. What did she do that could cause this kind of reaction? She painted her fingernails and her toenails two different colors. What. The. Effspice? Okay, I know I am not the only person that thinks this is a travesty! There is no way! Bastina, I love you but for the sake of my control-freak ways and my OCD please make sure fingernails match toenails...and if they don't, do not tell me. It makes me die just a little on the inside...

Weird Thing #5:
I have a gift. It is not an awesome gift, but it is a gift nonetheless. I have been aware of this gift ever since something happened to my brain at the age of 13 and I became a compulsive neat freak. What is this freak-like gift? I have the power to know if anything in my room has been touched or moved in the slightest. No lie. Bastina has seen this in action, she can vouch for me. My friends use to always run into my house and get to my room move a few things around. They would then continue to laugh hysterically as I took one look around the room and moved everything back into it's original position. When I say they move 'things' it can be something as lame as a piece of paper and I notice. My brother Jon-than loves to play this game with me. He will go to my desk and slightly move four or five things and watch in amazement as I survey the damage and move everything back. It is a total freak show...

I think I have shared enough of my weird ways. I wouldn't want to scare too many of you off...in just one post (Well, two posts actually. If you have not read the first one I linked to, do so. It talks about how I do not have to shave my legs. Don't get grossed out before you read). Alright, folks you know the drill...leave me a comment with something weird that YOU do. Or you can make fun of me in a comment...that is ok as well!
xoxo

You are OCD... you would probably freak if you ever got into my car or saw my desk at work.

I saw Christina's two different nail polishes and it made me twitch a little! Bahaha, I did however love one of the colors she used.

You are not weird, I prefer the word awesome to describe you. Just saying...

Hi, we have the same shower routine. Any other way is not acceptable in my eyes.
And yeah..you definitely have OCD :)

The shower thing I totally do. Not in that order but I do the exact same thing everytime I shower..and if I dont I feel like the world has gone crazy or something.

Also there is totes nothing wrong with reading A LOT. I do too. I have books everywhere in my apartment.

You are a tad OCD but so am I, so it's totally normal. haha.

P.S. I'm totes jealous of the non leg shaving.

I definitely do number 2!

I'm going to adress all your weird things. Starting now.

@1... honey-chipotle chicken crispers, in any form, are to die for. that is all.

@2... I am very very very very very jealous that you can read in the car. Driving long distance would be almost enjoyable. But alas, my car-sick ways bring me down. When I get my nook cover (it'll be arriving on the 13th!) I'm going to bring it everywhere with me!

@3... I definitely have a shower routine! wash face, shampoo, condition hair, bodywash, rinse out conditioner, done! I too can not NOT do this.

@4... You never see my toes anyway! Just pretend they are the same color as my fingies. I'll make sure to match in the summer for you. lol@shelby! I think thats a killing offense.

@5... I have indeed seen your gift in action. Its pretty impressive people. He didn't even tell you that he moved anything and you went right for the desk. It really is a gift. I wonder what your extra Vampire ability would be...

I'll give you something weird about your brother! When he closes his eyes to sleep they arent all the way closed. Its extremely creepy. He didn't believe me but I have pictures!

PS my button works now! I fixeded it! :D

Since I'm going to do this I may as well tell you something weird about me. I have a compulsion to correct anything I have mispelled. I can't NOT do it.

That being said.. Address*

and sorry for the essay-length comment!

I've never commented before, but after reading this I just had to! Weird things #1, 2 and 3? Totally me! Amazing! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has a shower routine and whose day is ruined if that routine can not be completed!

this list is superb!

my weird thing: I have a tendency to analyze coding on blogs. Which brings me to my question: did you do the re-design or someone else?! It looks cute!

Loys- Girl, you are SO not alone! My shower routine is crucial to my life! Thanks for commenting!

Stacy Dean-No way did I do it! If you scroll to the bottom of my blog it has a link to who did!

I wash my hair first and put conditioner on so it can "do it's thang" while I do the rest of my stuff...
I'm with you- NEAT. FREAK. I hate messes or things out of their place.

I pick things up with my feet!! I win at life. :p

i keep dvd's in alphabetical order. if someone messes them up, i have to fix them. why yes, i'm slightly ocd. i've also been called neurotic, but i choose not to believe that.

My mom is OCD, my dad is OCD, my sister was medicated for her OCD...me, not so much. The gene totally did not get into my genepool. Not even a little toe dip in the genepool. I am SO messy...it's to my detriment. True story. I walked into my apartment and I thought, "OMG, I've been robbed!" Not because it was torn apart but because it was spotless. My mom had snuck in and cleaned my apartment (yes, she still does that and I am in my 40's). I swear. to. god. I thought I had been robbed because my house was clean.

Get this, I don't make my bed either. Does that get into your craw and make ya skirm? But if it weren't for people like you and my mom, this world would be one big hawt mess! :) Hugs to the OCD you. (I used anti-bacterial gel first)

I'm the same way about my things being moved, whether it's my desk at work or my room or anywhere in my apartment. If anything's been touched, I'll know it. Even though I don't always consciously place things in just such a way, I subconsciously know how I placed it and will know if it's different. Like if my desk chair is turned to the side, I'll know darn well that I wouldn't have left it like that (because I'm totally OCD and everything has to be just right).

Okay.

1. I am totally with you on having the same color on your nails and toe nails. That's just the classy way to do it!
2. I am the same about books, too. I tend to read before I go to bed and I always ALWAYS have to finish the chapter before I go to sleep.

I am weird about making mistakes on paper. I tend to carry white out so I can fix them. And I only use one specific brand and type of pen. I am weird about office supplies!

I totally have a shower routine. I don't like for it to be interrupted (like if nobody replaced the soap that has been all used up). I like to be efficient!

I think everyone is OCD to an extent. I have a shower routine that can not be messed up. I always carry a purse big enough for everything & the kitchen sink to fit inside, and there is always a book in there. I don't leave home without one. I'm weird because I color coordinate my closet and will have it no other way. I go from light to dark. If Vito hangs anything up, I have to go fix it because it won't be in the right order. I hate crooked or unbalanced things. I need symmetry in my life. I'm odd and it is cool. 8)

I love you and ALL of your weird things!! I too love the spice but it does not love me! I also come from a spice loving family.

I also have a shower routine...as well as an entire morning routine.

My weird thing. I rub my ear when I am stressed or nevous...sometimes to go to sleep I rub Will's ear...
