week in review {1.}...

I honestly do not think I have EVER been so excited to see it be Friday! This week was bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s. So, I am not sure if I have shared on my blog that I have a new job. Yep...another one. Let me break it down for y'all. In July I nabbed a super great job working for the county as a Substance Abuse Counselor. I loved that job. I mean I loved it with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. It was a field I never really considered entering, especially working in a treatment court program, but it was an amazing opportunity and I learned so much during the six months I worked for Drug & Alcohol Services. However, in December I was encouraged *cough* forced *cough* to apply for a position that was open in Mental Health Services. How it works with the county is we have the entire Health Services Agency, many departments fall under that category. Mental Health Services and Drug & Alcohol Services are combined under the umbrella of Behavioral Health (even though we share a building it is two totally different departments). Anywho, I was basically stolen from my happy D&A home and moved over to Mental Health. I was NOT happy about that little situation.

Basically because I have OCD organization skills and I work super hard at my job, they wanted me in Mental Health in order to be on the ground floor of developing a pilot project for how smaller counties in California will be handling health care reform when it comes into play in 2014. Hi. I am SO not qualified to be in charge of something this HUGE. I mean...I don't think I can stress how big of a deal this project, and the grant that is paying for it, is. I don't think I want to even try because just thinking about it makes me get gray hairs and frown lines. Yikes. Am I overwhelmed? Yuuup. Is is a stellar opportunity? Hells-to-the-yeah.

Okay, so moving on from complaining. It is a great job. I am going to learn so much. It is going to look killer on an all future resumes. I am trying really hard to be positive about the situation. I miss my old job, and coworkers, but I still see them when I am in the other office building and my new coworkers are pretty alright people. Plus, I really went to school to be in the mental health field anyhow.

So last week my new supervisor set me up with a shadow schedule. She wants me to see EVERYTHING that Mental Health does, so that I can have a full grasp of what the services are, how they are administered, how/if they need to be changed, and what else needs to be added.

Since I have already written a freaking novel (sorry guys, I understand if you don't read all of this) I will just give you the highlights of my first week as a employee at Mental Health Services.

{Monday}: I was bitter this entire day. My main beef was that I was moved to a different office building. We have two main buildings for Behavioral Health, the O-town building (my former home base) and the W-town building (which is so stressful and uptight and where the BIG time bosses work). Guess which is my new home base? Yep...the uptight one. Awesome. I spent the entire eight hours of my day talking to our department head, and reading a 168 page grant. Kill me now folks...

{Tuesday}: Tuesday was SUCH an improvement from Monday. I got to shadow one of our clinicians, who is amazing. She is about 28 and shares my love of all things designer...we were basically pals from the moment we started talking purses. I got to shadow Steph throughout her day. We went out in the field, and I went on some client home visits with her, I met some very interesting people. We had super delish turkey burgers for lunch, took some crisis calls, chilled at the hospital with a guy who was in crisis, then met with a 6 year old little boy whose mother called that he was in crisis. His mom brought him in and it was...whoa. I honestly don't think I have the words. He was a scary little kid. I am not going to go into too much detail, because of confidentiality laws, but holy crap I was scared this boy was going to hurt one of us in that room with him. It was very alarming.

{Wednesday}: Wednesday I had my appointment to sign up for health benefits, life insurance, union stuff, oh my! Then I scurried out of that appointment with the quickness so I could run off to the O-town office, and catch the end of our staff meeting. This meant I was in my old home base! I got to see my mentor Susan, and chat with her, she put my complaining ass in check, and then I was back to shadowing Steph again. We went to our drop in center, and I sat in on a 'Hope and Healing' group , it was a great group.

{Thursday}: Thursday was chill. I chatted with my boss, then headed to the O-town office to have group supervision with all the clinicians, case managers, and whatnot. It was great. Then I had one on one supervision with my direct supervisor...I love her so bad. She is awesome. I of course snuck over to see Susan and the DH Girls in my spare time. Susan and I grabbed lunch. Then I went to Juvenile Drug Court because I was shadowing Tania...it was great. I really enjoyed seeing the juvenile treatment court program, because it is so different than what I did with adults in treatment court.

{Friday}: Basically I spent my morning doing more shadowing, and that's it. Then I left the W-town office to go to O-town because my supervisor is LEGIT! She allowed me to take 3 1/2 hours in order to be at the DH Girls graduation. I was SO happy she said yes. I know I don't work on that side of things anymore, but I love those women and their children. I wanted to be there to honor them, and they told me that if I wasn't there they would hate me forever. It was an amazing, tear filled ceremony, Susan gave a great speech to them, and both graduates gave speeches that warmed my heart. I made a teeny tiny speech, just to let them know that I respect them and that I honor them for all their hard work. Then Susan goes and busts out a certificate to me for my dedication to the women of Discovery House. It was a total surprise, and so very sweet. Yes. I did cry if you were wondering.

Holy crap. I am so sorry I wrote so freaking much. I guess I just needed to vent/share a bit of what week one was like. I am thinking I may do this on Friday's if exciting things happen during my work days. I promise they will be WAY shorter than this one.

Here is to everyone having a very happy weekend! My plans? Sleep...and a ton of it.

xoxo

things i am bitter about...

I know I like to keep things happy/uplifting/funny on this blog. Normally every Wednesday I find some wise words to share with all of you. Well, not today. Today I am tired, grouchy, and pretty darn bitter. So, this post is a total bitchfest. Love me through it folks...

Things I am Bitter About...

{1.} I am still bitter about my flight from Salt Lake City to Sacramento being seriously delayed on Sunday evening. This resulted in me not getting home until the next morning instead of at 10:35pm as was originally scheduled. This also resulted in me missing work on Monday...and having to cancel three appointments with new clients. This made me look unprofessional and like a slacker. It also caused me to have some SERIOUSLY intense dark circles under my eyes. Way to suck Delta Airlines....way to suck.

{2.} I am completely bitter about being denied time off from work on the 29th. This is the story my friends: I bust my booty at work. My department head always tells me I do the work of about three employees (yes, I am patting myself on the back. deal.) I work really hard...as we all should when we are at our jobs...the 'work' part is implied. Or so I would think. Some of my coworkers have the crappiest work ethics I have ever seen in my life. They come late, leave early, call in sick ALL THE TIME, do personal stuff at work, and are sometimes completely unprofessional (yes this is coming from the chick who threw someones briefcase into the hallway, moving on). Point being, I totally should have been able to leave early on this day. What was my direct supervisors response to my request? "Nope. That is the day court reports have to be faxed to probation. You have to fax them since you are taking over the program when I retire." Um. What? I have to be the one who faxes the reports? Does no one else in this office know how to operate a fax machine? As long as MY clients reports are completed why do I have to press the 'send' button? Anyways...this means that the super-awesome-birthday-surprise-that was supposed to be a secret but I figured it out-from Bff Jil is cancelled. What was said surprise of awesome? Tickets to see Lady Antebellum LIVE. I am supremely bitter about this. Okay, I lied. I am effing pissed about it.

{3.} I am totally jealous and bitter that my eldest brother took his annual trip to Southern California to hit up Universal Studios/Warner Brothers Studio last week. He came over last night and told me he met, "That kid from the singing show." I said, "Glee?! You met someone from GLEEEE?!" He replied, "Yeah. The one who has glasses." Me, "ARTIE?! Shut up!" Him, "Seriously. Who even likes that show?" What a complete waste. I want to meet Artie. I love that kid. It so should have been me...or Amanda.

{4.} I am slightly bitter that I work with a bunch of reformed criminals (who i love, mind you) Since I work in a drug and alcohol program, most of the other counselors are former addicts/alcoholics/criminals. I am the only 'normal' one...they like to call me 'The Normi'. So, the only other employee who does NOT have a criminal record is the daycare worker. Since I do not have a criminal past I passed the Live Scan fingerprint thing when I began work there. This means I can help in the daycare and look after the children. This also means I got puked on yesterday by a 6 month old. Yep...all down the front of my blouse/jeans/arm. Sick.

{5.} I am bitter that Glee was not on this week. I mean REALLY? My week is incomplete without Glee. It needs to be next Tuesday to cheer my life up.

So, I started the bitchfest...feel free to join in! What are YOU bitter about at the moment? Am I justified in all of my pissed off glory? Let me know. Thanks for reading the rants of a crazy person!

mail time...

My favorite posts to do are the ones where I write random letters to people/places/things. Why? I dunno. I just like them...get off my back about it 'aight? On we go...

Dear Pesto,
I am sorry for calling you an idiotic crackhead pigeon child. That was not very nice or nurturing of me. Sometimes I am a bad pigeon mother. You were brilliant in lab on Monday...even though you still pulled a biatch move and scratched me. Although, I am thinking that a pigeon scratch is the equivalent of me shanking someone...so you must get that from your mother. Holla! I promise not to squeeze you anymore as long as you don't peck me. Deal? Deal!

Dear Hershey's Cookies and Cream Candy Bar,
I just ate you for dinner. Yeah. That is correct for DINNER. You were delicious...unfortunately I now feel like I am going to vomit. Yes, I do blame you for that. Why? Um...because I can. That is all.

Dear UPS,
So, I have used your lovely speedy delivery services many times (um...twss?). Overall, I have always been left fully satisfied (what she always hopes to say). However, as of today you have left me high and dry (we get the idea correct?). When I pay YOU to overnight something...you should do just that. Get the delivery there...over-freaking-night. Because of YOU and your lame delivery people in their ugly brown uniforms a package of sheer awesome has been delayed. Is it the end of the world? No. Am I still pissed? Yep.

Dear Girl I Walked Behind This Afternoon,
Um. Just a friendly tip...tights do not qualify as pants. They just don't. If they ever do, one should at least have the decency to make sure their shirt covers their booty. You unfortunately didn't. I could see through your 'pants'...and when I say, "I could see through them." I literally mean I could see the pattern on your underwear. Sick-to-the-nast.

Dear Blog,
I am sorry I have been neglecting you as of late. It isn't that I don't care...it is just that I have been a little busy. School and such has stolen me away from my own personal happy place. Unfortunately, I do not believe this time issue will be solved any time soon. Between commuting, classes, homework, and my internship I am a busy gal! I do solemnly swear to post at least once or twice a week (hopefully more). Honestly, it's me not you.

Dear Weekend,
Hi. Can you get here with the quickness? Thank you.

Dear Mom,
You know I love you as if you were family, right? Bahaha...just kidding you are my family. I accepted that many years ago. You know what I do NOT love? The sex jokes that you insist on making constantly. Just because I am an adult and we can have a good laugh about grownup business now does not mean that I want to hear the phrase 'Levi lovin' come out of your mouth. Ever. In my life. NEVER. Also, please stop referring to your electric blanket as your 'electric boyfriend'. It isn't funny. It is child abuse. That is all.

Dear Astronomy,

You are possibly the most dull class I have ever taken. I know it is my fault that I am taking you right at this moment. I should have completed my GE requirement of a physical universe science with a lab component in my first two years of college. Well, what can I say? I am a slacker and decided to wait until my last semester of college. So I brought it on myself. However, I take serious issue with the fact that I have to learn about the stars. Why? Because I want to be a shrink not Spock. Although, one of my favorite twss jokes of all time came from that class. The professor even gave my twss accomplice and myself 5 points for our epic joke. This was what went down, guy in my class leans over in the planetarium and says, "Hey, can I use my Big Dipper to shoot the Milky Way into your Heavenly G?" Me, "Holy hilarity! That is FOR SURE what he asked her!" Yep. Epic win right there.

So, does anyone want to send some mail with me? I know these were all kind of rants...but hey sometimes one just needs to rant! So join me, won't you?

a guest post from "delysia lafosse"...

Sometimes people like to rant. Sometimes it is hard to rant on your own blog because people get up on their high horses and say things that piss you off even more. OR the person you want to rant about may read your blog so therefore you keep it to yourself...that is where having other blog pals comes into the picture. A dear Internet Bff was having an issue and wanted to vent...anonymously...I said, "Girl, feel free to take over my blog." So that is what she did...I present to you the very first 'Always Alexandria Anonymous Guest Post'...enjoy! Also, to Ms. Delysia Lafosse...I. Freaking. Love. You. No lie.

Of course this post will be about boys and dumb girls. Of course this post will take all of me to write, and write well. When I get heated about a topic I get sloppy in my writing, then it all goes to hell. I hope for you, and for Alex’s blog this goes smoothly. It all started when I was cuddling close to a guy watching another movie with Jack Black in it. You might not believe me when I say it wasn’t The Holiday, moving on... This boy was hotter than hot can be. No lying about it. Scruffy, but well kept. Stocky but muscular, and oh how I wanted to kiss him all over!! So, being the girl I am I decided that I would, far ahead of anything else, tell myself that if the opportunity presented itself I would mack on this boy and never regret a single moment. Of course, with my good luck the boy was sick with a slight cold and had told me that no, he couldn’t kiss me, for fear he would get me sick. I stuck with the proven fact and tried to forget about it... until he started kissing my neck.

Now, let me break for a moment here and say. Why oh why? I have no control in that area, NONE. I wonder if he was just testing me. Well, if he was... I lost. I turned over and eventually kissed that boy on the lips, because honestly.. I didn’t care if I got sick. (Which I didn’t by the way.) It wasn’t much of a kiss either, it was more of a, dang-I-wish -you-weren’t-sick-and-that-we-were-alone-so-this-was-better. Either way though, I reached my goal, and even though it might seem desperate.. I don’t care.
So what is the problem with this whole situation? Before this night this hot piece of a man was texting my roommate and asking her to hang out that night. He came over and sat next to her to begin with, while I joked before about how he wanted her, and how if she had the chance, she should kiss him. I guess it didn’t really work out like that. My friend wasn’t mad because she constantly would mention how she thought he wasn’t that good looking, or that he wasn’t her type. I just said “OKAY” in a sarcastic way because not only is this boy hawt to everyone, he sort of reminds me of her ex-boyfriend, his good characteristics. I knew she would tap that if the chance came up and I don’t blame her. Anyways, with her constantly saying that he was gross, or not her type, I figured the whole situation would blow over. No, I was wrong. She had to go about and ask him what his intentions were with me and what he thought of me. Being the guy he is, he said he didn’t know me well enough and just thought it was a “whatever” sort of thing. I completely agree. Even though this boy is hawt, hawt, hawt, he has heartache written all over him.

The days go by and my friend is constantly talking about him, dissecting his words when we are alone, and saying “he likes you, I can tell”. News flash honey!! Him liking me is going to get me no where. It feels great to cuddle next to him every-other-night and just have someone to be next to, but it really means nothing to me. Last night after he left she says “He is such a player.” I said, “Why’s that??” Then she freaks out and tells me that he was holding her hand on one side, and had his hand on my leg on the other. I asked her why she didn’t just let go of his hand... “Because that would be rude.” No darling, that would be being honest and blunt like you regularly are. You are never afraid to say no in situations like that, you want him, end of story. I didn’t really say that but I did say something like this, “ He isn’t a player. He has made it subtly clear to both of us that it is no big deal. He can cuddle with whoever he wants and not feel guilty and I give him mad props.” I’m not the kind of girl who can do that, but I’m working on it. I hear playing the game is what is in now-a-days.

On top of all of this, which isn’t even that big of a deal, but only sort of is because she makes everything a big deal, there is something else. This bugs me so bad I could just punch something. This girl is so high maintenance that it is ridiculous. Talking with her ex-boyfriend after the break up he revealed to me that, she was so chill when they first started dating. Going anywhere he wanted to go to eat, doing what he wanted, listening to his kind of music, saying “No problem” to weird situations. Then as soon as they hit a comfortable spot, BAM everything changed. “Ew disgusting!!” and gagging sounds were made at his every suggestion, she soon became very hard to please. So as we meet new people and they talk about the kind of girls they date they mention how they don’t like girls that are high maintenance. Automatically, like a lever has been switched in her brain or something, she says “I’m not high maintenance, I am soo chill.” LIE. I want to stand up and scream at her and say “LIKE HELL YOU AREN’T!” Because this girl is the hardest person to please in the world. I can’t watch TV before I fall asleep because of you, and if I even mention a food I would love to cook, your face goes crazy because you would “throw up”. Stop being a child.

Don’t get me wrong here people, I love her.. she is one of my greatest friends. Sometimes though, I wonder how it became that way. When I am with her, my opinions are mute, my words tend to disappear into oblivion because she is center stage. I’m not one to talk crap about people because I know karma is a bih. That, however has not stopped me from spilling my feelings over the internet and wanting people to see things my way. I want you all to know that, I am severely frustrated at this point and the fact that I have FINALLY gotten to publish this piece is like a load of bricks off my back.

In conclusion, thank you Alex, for so graciously providing a space for me to spill out my heart and soul. I will forever be indebted to your blogging needs because of this, and that is no lie. DANG that felt good.

listen here...

So I started this blog in August basically out of boredom. I had nothing better to do until school was back in so I thought, 'Hey...write a blog and then you will become Internet famous like Lauren.' So this here blog was started...and I figured it would be around for like a week before I tired of it. No such luck. I freaking adore my blog, and I actually really enjoy posting on it most of the time...

Here is the deal my friends. I get anonymous comments from lamespice people (actually I am 99% sure the comments are coming from one person; the other 1% come from my friend Jen who refuses to make an account). There are certain fangirls who are taking me to task because of my 'off color humor' with my twitter friends. Would you all like to know what I have to say to THAT?!
.......

Yep, all I have to say is that. Well, that and there are no more anonymous comments allowed at this blog!

Moving on...I need to mansplain something to you all.

In case you didn't know, my name is Alexandria and this is MY blog...
Sometimes I wear glasses. Glasses that I sorta needed to read...but not really. Glasses that I feel make me look smart, and to be honest I mean I am pretty darn smart. However, on this blog I say made up words, abuse punctuation, and pay proper grammar no mind. Also, sometimes I buy glasses just because they are Dolce & Gabbana...

Sometimes when I go out to celebrate Jil's birthday I get drunk. For some reason when I get highly intoxicated I close my eyes A LOT. In order to see straight one eye has to be open while the other is closed...it is ridiculous...but also hilarious...

Sometimes I make really bad fashion choices (granted this picture is from when I was 18). Notice the hair...the WAY too heavy eye makeup...the french manicure, that had an airbrushed heart on them, my date. I can however be grateful that I did not have on a bright orange dress like the lady behind us...

Sometimes I think this picture of my niece holding my Grandpa's (EMPTY) beer can is funny...and the other times I think it is freaking hilarious....

Sometimes I try things even though I know I am not going to like them...such as camping. Yes, I went camping with Jil and her fam (only overnight, in a trailer, on the beach) and it was not awesome. However, I smiled and tried to have fun and therefore I ended up having fun! Also, sometimes I love a hoodie and jeans and a face that has NO makeup on it...actually most of the time that is true...

Sometimes if I feel like I am having a stellar hair/face day I will document it via my camera (this was NOT a good hair day...it was all about the face). Then when I get home and upload said photos onto my laptop...I realize that I wasn't having a 'hottness monster' day at all. I was having an 'If looks could kill I would light you on fire with my eyes' day...

Sometimes I love my best friend so much that I agreed to be her Maid of Honor at her wedding when we were 18, even though I strongly dislike weddings. But, I love her so I let her try to make my hair big and fabulous...just to make her happy...

Sometimes I say how much I dislike children and then I remember how much I love my niece. Srsly. This amazing 4 year old is my favorite person on this planet and I cannot even begin to express in words how much I love her. She is a brainwashed Democrat (or 'Democrack' as she says), she is beautiful, and wants to be a doctor...or the president when she grows up. She loves peace signs as well...

Sometimes I stand up for what I believe in...actually I always do that. I also respect that my beliefs are not in line with other peoples and that is okay. Sometimes I just have to do what I think is right, all while respecting what other people think is right, sometimes I am okay with that...sometimes I am not...

Sometimes...I make the. hottest. faces. ever. Jealous? Sometimes I make inappropriate jokes that are full of innuendo...sometimes I drink beer only from the bottle...sometimes I swear A LOT in real life, but for the sake of being a nice person AND respecting the people who read my blog I do NOT swear on here. Sometimes...I make TWSS jokes ALL day long. Sometimes the only person who actually calls me 'Alexandria' is my mom...or my older brothers when they are mad at me. Most of the time people call me Zander, Alex, Amie Amia, or Auntie Hammie. Sometimes I turn my head phones up really loud on my iPod while listening to musical soundtracks so I can sing and pretend that it is my ACTUAL voice. Sometimes...I make Vlog's (well I only made one) where I have no makeup on AND my hair isn't done...also I talk like a valley girl (no I am not linking to it because it is heinous).

There you have it folks...sometimes I do those things. But ALL of the time I am who am I. I do not apologize for it, because I am pretty darn happy with myself. If YOU do not like me...then please don't take the time to read my blog...it's cool.

To all of my lovely friends who have decided they do like me AND my blog, thank you! I heart you all something fierce!

mail time...

A few people use this new feature on their blogs...so I am basically thieving someone else's idea. But I am fessing up to it...so that makes it okay right? Right!

I love mail. Not bills and postcards from my dentists telling me it is time to get my teeth cleaned. But the occasional little note from someone or birthday cards...you know fun stuff like that. So since I love mail I am sending out some letters of my very own...

Dear Nails,

Hi, you look lovely right now all painted up with 'Sally Hensen Insta-Dri, one stroke polish in Rapid Red'. I am really happy that I decided to stop biting you. I really only stopped because I realized that it is sicknast that I touch stuff all day long and then put my germy hands in my mouth. It wasn't because I wanted you to grow and look pretty. But you do look fab so good on ya, mate! (bet you didn't know I speak Australian...yep I do.)

Dear Costco,

I love that you have everything on the planet one would need to survive a nuclear holocaust. Like seriously, I could move into Costco and live there the rest of my life and have everything I could ever desire. I hate going to you because every single time I come to visit it is 'old people day'. Don't get me wrong I love me some old people, just not when they stop in the middle of the aisles and just stand there looking confused. Or when they are standing in a line to get a free taste of something that they will never ever buy, like hot pockets. However, you sell churros so I will not hold the old people thing against you. The end.

Dear Blackberry,

I don't have one of you nor do I want one. I do take some serious issue with the fact that you have used some crappy cover of a Beatles song in your new commercial. The Beatles rule the musical universe...no one should ever cover them (unless you are in the movie 'Across the Universe'...then you will be forgiven because that movie is amazing!)That is blasphemy and you should never ever do it again. Thank you.

Dear Bill O'Reilly,
Shut up. Thank you.

Dear Skin Cream I Cannot Remember The Name Of,
I had never heard of your brand before but I spotted you while I was dodging old people in Costco and I realized you have the worst ad slogan I have ever seen. Writing, 'Do you have a turkey neck?' on a skin cream for women is just plain crazy. Even if I had a turkey neck I would never buy a product that said it would get rid of it because that would be mortifying. Hire some better advertisers.

Dear Glee,

In between studying for my killer bio psych exam and working on my senior seminar term paper I will be watching you. I feel very left out when everyone talks about this fabulous show because I have yet to view you. Which, if you know me, you know it is pure insanity that I am not watching...because I love musicals more than any gay man alive. Witness.

Dear Woman Who Cut Me Off Today,

You made me very angry. It would be nice if you didn't pull out in front of someone who is going 55 mph and then drive slower than a snail slithers (or whatever snails do). It would also be nice if you didn't flip me off when I honked because you almost made my car smash into yours. I also wish that I wouldn't have gone into a rage blackout (holla Summer from the O.C.) and passed you and flipped you off while your child (that I did NOT see ahead of time) was in the passenger seat. I laughed my booty off when I read the, "Teach Peace" sticker you had on your back window when you re-passed me, and then continued to drive at 10 mph. Yes, I do know that I have road rage.

Dear Term Paper,

Sorry that I have been procrastinating and not working on you as much as I should have. Even though I have been procrastinating you must love that I forgot I was writing you last night and slipped into 'blog writing mode' and typed 'lamespice'. I have apparently been reading far too much BBL. I was half-tempted to leave it in there...because my professor would have loved it.

Dear Weekend,

I am very happy you are finally here. It has been a loooong week and I needed you severely. In between studying and homework catch-up I have some super secret plans to work out. Oh, you want some hints? Let's just say it maybe, sorta, kinda, might rhyme with 'liveaway'.

Does anyone want to send some mail with me? Join in, it's a party! Until next week blog world.

Oh, and everyone have a Happy Halloween!

i love california, but...

I am a California gal. I was born here and will live here probably my entire life...and I heart it. We have the best beaches, we have a plethora of Sprinkles Cupcakes (although none close enough to where I live). We have Napa...which hello is bee-you-ti-ful! We have San Francisco which is a mecca of shopping and awesomeness. We totes have Disneyland...it is awesomespice. We are home of fresh avocados, even though I hate them they are still around if I want the option. Also, it is a blue state...so I know that I won't be asked to leave anytime soon due to my bleeding heart liberal politics!
california Pictures, Images and Photos
However, as of late I have been hating on California. Why, you may ask? IT IS TOO HOT, AND I AM O-V-E-R It. So I know it isn't the hottest state in the world but I hate the heat...like 90 degrees and I am so tapping out. But I buck up and deal with it knowing that when winter comes it will be lovely and cold and rainy and I can bust out my cute hats, scarves, and hoodies. However, fall is starting in like a week and we have NO sign of a cool down...like 105 all next week. Sick. Ew. Die.

So...don't be concerned if my blog is suddenly lights out next week. You know in case I melt into a puddle or cook myself to death in my oven-um-I-mean-my-car. And yes Jil for the millionth time you can have my sunglasses as soon as I kick!

On this happy note...have a good weekend bloggity bloggers!

xoxo....Gossip Girl...(I know, I know, that is like too many cheesy jokes in one week! I will try to tone them down a bit, scouts honor!!)

furlough days...

Furlough Days are making me lose my mind. No really...my brain is slowly trickling out of my ears (and just a side note it looks remarkably similar to the memory stuff from Harry Potter...if only I had a pensieve...okay back on track) sorry about that!

Oh are you wondering what a furlough day is? Do you think it sounds fun, sorta like a vacation? Yeah...no it isn't. Due to the awesome handling of budget matters out here in good ol' California our tuition was raised 30%!!! After they raised our tuition they then decided that every professor was required to take nine furlough days off. A furlough day off means they cannot step foot on campus; no classes; no time in their offices; no answering students e-mails; and no returning phone calls. Yeah they can't even check their e-mail (if they do they get a $675 dollar fine) how crazy is THAT?

Okay so nine days doesn't seem like that big of a deal....and really it isn't. The thing that is making me lose my mind is that only 3 days are campus-wide. Which means on those three days every teacher/school employee is gone and the school is totes shut down. The rest of the six days are teachers choice...so each teacher picks six random days that they will cancel all their classes.

Doesn't sound too bad...the bad part is trying to figure out which of my six teachers cancelled class for which day...and they keep changing it. I got an e-mail from a teacher last night saying that they switched all their days to accomodate a vacation so to 'disregard' her previous schedule?!?!

WHAT?! I already inked all that business into my planner (theloveo'mylife planner; that I cannot function without).

Grrr...okay sorry this was a bit of a rant...which I do sometimes...sorry you all had to read it!

So tell me what is making you crazy today?!?!
