lessons learned...

I have a favorite show. It is a show I watched from it's very first episode. It is a show I watched every Tuesday for seven years. It is a show that I NEVER EVER missed. What show is it? The one, the only, Gilmore Girls. If you haven't watched it...well I just don't know what to tell you...other then go freaking watch it NOW.

So, what is my point? My point is this show taught me numerous life lessons. I seriously cannot tell you how many rounds of Trivial Pursuit I have won, because of random trivia I learned on this show. It is serious business. I own all seven seasons, and I can honestly say I have seen each season over ten times. I love it. So. Bad.

A twitter/blog pal, Marci, and I were discussing the wonderful world of 'Gilmorisms' and I wrangled her into starting a blog series called, "Lessons I Learned Watching Gilmore Girls." So, any Gilmore fanatics out there leave your email in the comments section if you want to participate. Once we see who wants to join us, we will send an email giving y'all the details on how this will work.

happy birthday...

Two sappy lovefest blog posts in a row?! I know, I know. I am getting soft in my old age, BUT today is pretty much a national holiday. In case you are all not aware, today is the day of Ms. Lauren's birth. Let me hip you to why this is such an important day. The Universe revolves around Lar. No lie. It is completely Lar-Centric. Don't hate...

Let me gush again about how much I love the people I have met through this blog. I had the pleasure of real life meeting Lauren, on an epic San Francisco adventure and srsly with one eye roll and bitchy comment I knew we were bff soul mates (it's a soul mate threesome, Lar, Ash, and myself). We have bonded over hilarious emails, the creation of #dirrrtymagic, mimosas, spark plugs, being judgement twins, talking about birds, and holding hands in SF at night so she didn't trip and fall because of the ginorm heels she was rocking.

Lauren have a fabulous birthday! You better be doing it up right today! I cannot wait for our next adventure. I hope wherever it ends up being can handle the hurricane also known as Ashton, Lauren, and Alex. I love ya doll! Everyone join me in wishing Lar a Happy Birthday!

all grown up...

I have mentioned many times that my favorite thing about my blog is the amazing people I have met through it. I have made lifelong friends, some that I have met, and some that I have not...yet. One of my best iBff's is the one and only Ms. Jacki Chace (if you don't know her, click here and read an interview I did with her once). I have yet to meet her in real life (soon jail bait, soon), but I can honestly say I love her dearly. Today is a VERY big day for Jacki, she is now a legit high school graduate!

I am so proud of you Little Baby Jacki that I could scream. I wish I could have attended and embarrassed you at the ceremony...maybe when you graduate college Ash, Lar, and I will come and embarrass the hell out of you! But that is neither her nor there. You did it. You pulled through four years of busting your buns and you are heading to the big bad college world, where you will do fabulously.

Jacki, you are an amazing young woman. You are hilarious, smart, beautiful, and full of talent. You will be a success in all that you do. I love you Jail Bait, like a sista! Now go take the world by storm...I know you can do it.

fill in the blank friday {9.}...

Holllller. It's Friday. Finally. Okay, really who am I kidding? I have done absolutely nothing ALL week long. Well nothing besides take care of my poor hurt mama, catch up on movies and TV shows with my new love Netflix, hit up the gym like a mad woman, and job hunt. Fun. Not really. But would you like to know what is fun? 'Fill in the Blank Fridays'! It has been far too long since I have participated in this activity so let's get going...

{1.} The best thing about being in school was/is being able to ditch if I wanted. I could go or not go, which was not an option in high school. So once I got to college I was ALL about skipping a class or three.

{2.} The worst thing about being in school was/is the INSANE amounts of homework. I swear you hit college and the professors think that their class is the ONLY class that is of importance, so they decided to bury you under textbooks and notes. Srsly.

{3.} My favorite subject in school was/is English, Creative Writing, and Poetry. I should have been an English major. Why the heck did I choose Psychology? Sam, we are SO twins on this answer.

{4.} One subject I wish I could have mastered/would like to master is a foreign language. Ideally I would love to speak Italian (because I am Italian) but learning Spanish would be more practical and helpful while on the job hunt.

{5.} I could never get tired of studying Women's Issues. I did my minor in Women's Issues and I loved it. Every class I took about this subject was fascinating.

{6.} The most memorable teacher I had was Mr. Del Real. This one goes back to the high school days. He was my drama teacher all through high school, and my Honors English teacher my senior year. He was so inspiring, passionate, and hilarious. He was the one who got me involved in politics, he helped me find my voice...and I pretty much haven't shut up since then!

{7.} If I could choose between going to school for the rest of my life or working for the rest of my life, I'd choose um...I am not sure about this one. Since I just got done with school a few weeks ago, and have yet to start a career of any sorts I have no answer yet. Although, the Big Girl World kind of scares me, and school is my 'safe place' so we shall see...
