fill in the blank {1.}...yep...twss...

One thing I really love about blogging is stealing ideas from other bloggers who are far more awesome than I. Okay...so I am not really 'stealing' being that permission was granted to all who wanted to play along with 'Fill In the Blank Friday'...and I am ALL about filling of the blanks *ahem*.

So, I meandered over to Simply Sam and she had this cute little feature up, that she had borrowed from The Little Things We Do...

I decided I wanted to play along...so hopefully some of YOU do as well.

{1.} If I weren't a psychology major I'd love to be an English major.

{2.} When I'm super upset I go to my room and turn on some bad ass music and I dance it out .

{3.} My favorite thing about myself is my ability to stand up for what I believe in and speak up for what I feel is right .

{4.} If I found a $100 in the pocket of last winter's coat I'd spend it on my textbooks for the semester .

{5.} Even though some people might consider this a flaw, I love my control freak ways. They help me stay uber-organized and keep me productive.

{6.} I love the way I feel when I spend time with my niece. Playing with her and seeing the world through the eyes of a four year old is beautiful .

{7.} I love my hair most when it's beaten into full submission by my flat iron. Srsly. The curls are hard to smooth. When I am successful it is a glorious VICTORY!

Yay, for blanks being filled! Feel free to 'blog borrow' this...make sure to let me know if you did so I can read YOUR answers! Happy Friday lovey dolls!

apparently psychology has a farm just like old mcdonald's...

Um. Hi, neglected, sad, lonely blog of mine. I have missed thee very much. Unfortunately, as of Monday my real life kicked back into gear (yes by 'real life' I mean school). So I am back to the grind *ahem*, which means less posts on this beloved blog o' mine. Hopefully, you all won't perish without me...yes I DO know I am not that legit. Just let me live in my fantasy world, kthanksbye!

Are you wondering what my week has consisted of thus far? You are? Awesome. You are in luck...I am going to mansplain some of the highlights...

Monday was a day of pure awesome glory. It was the first day of the semester...which is normally pretty much a fail. However, I had the coolest thing waiting for me in the hallowed halls of my Psychology Department. I was not looking forward to my 'Elements of Learning and Memory' class...it is boring. All that is talked about is Pavlov. Lamespice. That is when I walked into the lab component of the course and met the avian love o' my life. Allow me to introduce y'all to Pesto (okay so this technically is not THE Pesto...but it might as well be his twin)...Yep. I get to spend the next four-ish months training this adorable little pigeon friend. I. Was. Stoked. I was not stoked when my professor informed us all that our little avian pals will be euthanized at the end of May. Um. Fuhthewah?! You are going to MURDER these cute little buggers just because we are done tormenting them? Sad times. Then we were told that if we wanted, we CAN adopt our pigeons at the end of the semester. It was a sweet victory.

So, hopefully I do not kill my pigeon in the next four months so then I can adopt him and be a pigeon mommy. Also, don't you worry your pretty little heads...I found a pigeon baby-daddy. Yep, Sam stepped up to the plate and even helped me rename the pigeon. I was told I was not allowed to give little '#J942' a REAL name...because if he dies I will be attached and then be sad. I said, "Eff that!" So, Sam suggested using the name of one of the Animaniac mafia pigeons...Squit, Pesto, or Bobby. I chose 'Pesto' because I liked the alliteration of 'Pesto the Pigeon'.

I can't take a real picture of little Pesto because apparently cell phones+pigeons=Armageddon...or something to that effect. I plan on sneaking a photo shoot in. If I don't? Well, that means I am a 'mommy blogger' failure.

Speaking of, my dear Internet Bff and #musictwin Shannon anointed me with the 'mommy blogger' title. She also happens to be one of my highlights of the week. See...Shannon is awesome. She is another Utah blog friend I plan on meeting SOON. She is pretty much my twin in all things music. I l-o-v-e music. It is my lifeblood. However, as of late I have been seriously lacking in new music. Shannon remedied that problem with the uber-quickness. How? She mailed me FOUR cds full of amazing swoon-worthy #musictwinness. She also threw in quite a few other little pressies that made me happy. I will fight any of you who try to say your blog friends beat mine. Seriously. I will shank you. Mine win!

One more highlight of this week (well actually of the past couple of months) is the amazing that is the 'that's what she said' jokes. I love them so bad. I have met my twss match in Sam (you know. my twitter husband. and my pigeon baby-daddy). We pretty much text each other all day long. I would say 97% are twss-texts. He can make ANYTHING a twss joke. Math, computer science, santa, pirates, donuts...it is hilarious. I have decided to start compiling a list of our twss marathons for YOUR lovely viewing pleasure. Would you like a little taste (twss)?

Alex (aka ME): "It is stupid. I am so over it."

Sam (aka twss master): "Well, you are always over it. Assuming I am 'it'."

That is just the tip of the iceberg...*ahem* say it with me folks...

One last epic thing before I depart and do my homework. Bastina Balicious (future sister in law o' mine) has been sucked into the blog world. I couldn't be more pleased. Now I get to read her daily hilarity and benefit from her expertise button making skills. She is a button addict and I am almost certain I am going to have to ship her to rehab. Good thing I already scored some epic buttons from her. Holla! I didn't even have to ask her and she so kindly made me two new buttons. Look on over at the right side o' this blog and pick your favorite new 'Always Alexandria' button. I mean twss AND peace signs?! Yep. She knows me well. Thanks Bastina!

And that is my week in semi-review. Are you jealous of my life yet? Also, please know you are all aunties and uncles of Pesto. Love him like he was your own, okay? Oh, does it bother anyone that I abuse grammar and punctuation like a redheaded stepchild in the middle of Wal-Mart on my blog?! Anyone? Yeah sorry if it does...that is how I roll. This blog lets me pay grammar NO mind. Just love me through it, ok?

my favorite things...

If you didn't already know how in love with my niece I am...well then you obviously have never read my blog before. I talk about her constantly. Why? Oh, just because she is the most amazing child to have ever walked the face of this planet (yes, that is my completely unbiased opinion). If you are new to my blog (hi!) I devoted an entire post to my favorite person ever...yep my little Bug (short for Bug-a-Boo). So, school yourself in her awesome ways, won't you?
Anywho, this post is not just about my favorite person. It is about one of my all time favorite things to do. I love books. I learned to read at 4 (holla! child genius) and I have read books for pleasure ever since. It is important to me to instill a love for reading in Bug...because it just is. So, I am that lame Auntie who buys her books. Sorry, that is just how it is...at least I don't give her socks right? She happens to love them. Some of her (and my) favorites are the books written by Jamie Lee Curtis & Laura Cornell. I love these books. The illustrations are very cool and modern, they rhyme but not in a 'dumbing-down' kind of way, and they have very important powerful messages in them. I am going to share with y'all one of OUR favorites...
"Is There Really a Human Race?"

"Is there really a human race?
Is it going on now all over the place?
When did it start?
Who said, "Ready, Set, Go"?
Did it start on my birthday?
I really must know.
Do I warm up and stretch?
Do I practice and train?
Do I get my own coach?
Do I get my own lane?
Do I race in the snow?
Do I race in a twister?
Am I racing my friends?
Am I racing my sister?
If the race is a relay, is Dad on my team?
And his dad and his dad?
You know what I mean.
Is the race like a loop or an obstacle course?
Am I a jockey, or am I a horse?
Is there pushing and shoving to get to the lead?
If the race is unfair, will I succeed?
Do some of us win? Do some of us lose?
Is winning or losing something I choose?
Why am I racing? What am I winning?
Does all of my running keep the world spinning?
If I get off track when I take the wrong turn,
do I make my way back from mistakes?
Do I learn?
Is it a sprint?
A dash to the end?
Am I aware of the time that I spend?
And why do I do it, this zillion-yard dash?
If we don't help each other, we're all going to...
CRASH!
Sometimes it's better not to go fast.
There are beautiful sights to be seen when you're last.
Shouldn't it be that you just try your best?
And that's more important than beating the rest?
Shouldn't it be looking back at the end that you judge your own race by the help that you lend?
So, take what's inside you and make big, bold choices.
And for those who cannot speak for themselves,
use bold voices.
And make friends and love well, bring art to this place.
And make the world better...
for the whole human race."
-Jamie Lee Curtis
I love these books. I love their messages. I love Bug. I love having story-time with her. So, now YOU tell me your favorite childhood books or the books YOU read to your kids (or to your favorite little person, for those of us who are childless).

and the award goes to...

So, I was gifted with two very high honors; the Kreativ Blogger award, and the Beautiful Blogger award! Yay, for awards! So since I have already been granted the Kreativ Blogger award (feel free to go and read those interesting facts if you are so inclined), I am only going to do the Beautiful Blogger award! Thanks to my online lovah Sam for passing this award my way! He is pretty much legit and my twss-partner-in-crime. This is the utmost truth. Go and read his hilarity if you do not already do so!

Here are the rules for the Beautiful Blogger award:
1. Thank the blogger who gave you the award.
2. Paste the award on your bloggity blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for the award
4. Share 7 interesting facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 7 other bloggers.

Now here go 7 'interesting' things about yours truly:

{1.} My favorite scent in the world is the smell of a new plastic shower curtain. Yep. You did read that correctly. I pretty much enjoy the smell of plastic in general. Shower curtains, pool floaties, you get the idea. I l-o-v-e it. No joke.

{2.} I am sort of a neat-freak. This is not news to many of you. However, there is one household chore that makes me cringe. I absolutely despise vacuuming. I will put it off for as long as humanly possible. I dislike it so much that I think I would rather be water-boarded (okay that may be a LITTLE dramatic, but y'all get the idea). Alex+vacuum=pissed. The end.

{3.} I own some of the most ginormous purses that have ever graced this lovely universe of ours. I adore purses. They are my favorite. I typically make sure to purchase bags that can double as a purse and a backpack. You know room for the essentials: binder, highlighters, planner, pens, pencils, post-its, school books, recreational books, bottle of water, sunglasses, wallet, ipod, flip-flops, keys, a few of Bug's toys. Like I said...the essentials. No joke, I could probably survive a nuclear holocaust with the contents of my purse. Truth.

{4.} I bite my nails. Okay, so yes this probably does not qualify as an 'interesting' fact...but hey you all pretty much know everything about me already. So, I am working with a limited information pool. So, yes. I bite my nails and I have done so for as long as I can remember. It is such a sicknast habit. I have been trying really hard to stop. However, I do really well until I get stressed. Basically, my nails grow and the look lovely then I have a test and the moment the test is over I realize I have just chewed my nails to the skin. Lame.

{5.} I am obsessed with flamingos. Yep. That is correct. I collect anything and everything that has a flamingo on it, like a 75 year old Florida woman. Basically, my room is covered in flamingo awesomeness. Why? I have no clue. One day I think I just decided that I love them. I even have Vans Slip-ons with pink flamingos on them. If I ever get hitched...I will wear those shoes. I have passed this flamingo adoration on to my niece...although she prefers to call them, 'mamingos' because she is legit.

{6.} I have had the same car since I was 16 years old. I was gifted with a 1995 Nissan 200SX by my dad when I got my license. It is purple. When I say purple...I mean like Barney the flippin' dinosaur purple. It is a hideous car...but I absolutely adore it. I have SO many good memories from cruising around in 'The Struggle-Buggy'. I am sad that I have to get rid of it...like I will cry when it finally sells. I am sure of this. However, my new wheels have been given the name, 'The Struggle-Buggy Jr.'...

{7.} I am a note taking fool. I take notes about everything. Even if I am just reading a 'for fun' book...I have been known to write in the margins or on a piece of paper I stick in the book. Sometimes I make family trees if they are billions of characters to keep straight. I blame my high school honors English teacher. He was a note enthusiast and brainwashed me into being the exact same way. You should see my binders when school is in...they are insane.

Now it is time for me to bestow this honor on 7 of your lovely folks. I am going to TRY to pick some fresh faces...so if I give it to you and you have already done it I apologize in advance! Here we go...

{1.} Sam from 'Simply Sam'
{2.} Kat from 'A Day in the Life'
{4.} Kristin from 'Lost in a Dream'
{5.} Lynn from 'lynn lost in love'
{6.} Sarah from 'Sar-Uh bright-SKI'

And there we have it! Thanks again Sam for the lovely award!

always alexandria's official hottness monster list: the bad boys edition pt. 1...

It is that time again. The time for all of us to gather, swoon, and drool over some of our very favorite hottness monsters. I asked for your suggestions and you ladies once again delivered. Some of these are your picks, some are mine. All are pure sex on a stick. Let's all agree there is nothing better than a really good bad boy...

Hottness Monster #1:
Zachary Quinto is the epic hottness that plays Sylar on 'Heroes' (also, known as the only reason I still sometimes watch that show). Sylar is the epitome of creepy sexy. He is a complete sociopath but in a really good way. He pulls off the whole sexy creeper thing flawlessly (srsly. Edward Cullen should take a few pointers from this guy.) I love his out of control eyebrows and his stubly face. Mmm...mmm...good.

Hottness Monster #2:As always my list contains a female. Who is more hardcore than Sandra Bullock? Well, yes Angelina Jolie...that is what I said and what Sam said. Unfortunately, my #1 girl crush Angie has already graced a hottness monster list. So, Sam said Sandra Bullock. This lady is fearless and absolutely stunning! She has a wicked sense of humor and is a complete babe. Get on with your BA self Sandra!

Hottness Monster #3:Josh Holloway. This one right here is in honor of the lovely Lula and the lovely Nat. Hot. Dripping wet. Muscles. Um, jaw porn. I have lost my train of thought...all I can think about is being stranded on an island with this hot piece. Let's just say I would not mind...*ahem*

Hottness Monster #4:Ed Westwick. Or as I like to call him when we are having alone time, Chuck Bass. He is the definition of sexy, over-privileged, bad boy. The hair. The clothes. The pout. They all slay me. He is one bad mother-chucker. This is truth, ladies. I dedicate this to Amanda because I know how much she loves him. Get it girl.

Hottness Monster #5:Oh Ian Somerhalder, I love him so bad. I mean he really was not on my man-radar until I witnessed his epic snarky self portraying Damon Salvatore on 'The Vampire Diaries'. What is more bad boy than hypnotizing girls and feeding off their blood, all while being charming and witty? Yep. That is correct. Not one single thing.

Hottness Monster #6:Dane-freaking-hottspice-Cook. What is better than a good ol' fashioned bad boy? A hilarious good ol' fashioned bad boy. Do not judge me for this. I find Dane Cook to be hilarious, no lie. I could watch his stand-up over and over and it never loses it's bad boy hilarity. If I were a boy witnessing his hottness would give a whole new meaning to the term 'stand-up'...that is all.

Hottness Monster #7:Milo Ventigmalia has the most Italian name I have ever heard in my life. He was also my first true bad boy love when he played 'Jess Mariano' on the always fabulous 'Gilmore Girls'. He was totes a bad boy with a side of bookish nerd (that happens to be my favorite type). He was sarcastic, he lied, he had fabulous abs, he had the whole crooked mouth thing that made me want to jump through my tv and pounce on him. And the hair...oh the hair...

Hottness #8Bradley Cooper stole my heart when he appeared in, 'The Hangover'. First of all he is absolutely hilarious. Secondly, when he walked out like a total BA in that black suit he sported throughout the entire movie...I feel in L-U-S-T with him. I mean you ALL know exactly what scene I am speaking of. Just look at him...he looks like the best kind of trouble a girl could get into...

Hottness Monster #9Alexander Skarsgard is how sexy vampire should look. This is absolute truth. He plays the foxy that is 'Vampire Eric' on my beloved 'True Blood'. This is all I will say about him because he belongs to Lula and I am not a homewrecker.

Hottness Monster #10:Kat Von D is possibly one of the most beautiful women on the planet. I hate when people say she isn't attractive because of her tattoos, she is gorgeous and her tattoos are such a huge part of that. Not only is she a stellar tattoo artist but she has some of the most beautiful pieces known to man gracing her bod. She is a total bad ass. No lie. She is a leather wearing, swearing, tattoed bad ass all while still being classy and feminine. This is truth. I love her so bad.

Okay. So do y'all agree? Disagree? Are you pissed that I left someone off the list? Share in the comments section! Also, leave any suggestions because like the title says this is only PART ONE of the bad boys edition...there are so many to do...so little time. Yep. Totes what she said...

question and answer...

I was having some issues trying to pick something to blog about. I have been in a bit of a blogging slump as of late. Then it dawned on my that I had completely abandoned my ' The Book of Questions' posts. Do any of you even recall those? They have been around since the beginning of this little blog o' mine. Since I have quite a few more followers then I had the last time I wrote one of these posts, click here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and finally here. Now you should be all caught up...and exhausted from all of that clicking.

Alright, *drum roll while I flip through the book*...

Question #67: Would you risk your life for someone close to you out of feelings of obligation or out of feelings of love? Would it matter if you could refuse without anyone ever knowing? What if the person asked you not to risk your life?

Answer: Whoa. That is a heavy question. So, here it goes! There are a few people in my life who I would risk my life for out of love (the majority of my family. However, I am only going to talk about two of them.) Truly. See this guy right here?
He happens to be my oldest brother. He also happens to be the father of my favorite (and only) niece. If it came down to something happening to him or me being able to step up and willingly risk my own life for him, I would. Why would I do that? See that gorgeous four year old in the above picture? That is my reasoning. She is four and she needs her daddy, she happens to be the biggest daddy's girl on the planet. Her whole world revolves around him. So out of my love for him AND her I would willingly risk my life to save his or hers. No obligation necessary.

It would make zero difference to me if they would find out or not. I would do it if they find out, and I would do it if I knew they would never find out. Hence, the act being done out of love and not out of obligation.

Would it make a difference if I was asked not to risk my life by these two people? Nope. Not in the slightest. Bug is the most important person in my life. She is the most important person to much of my family. There is nothing that I would not do for her. I want her to grow up safe, healthy, and strong. That is my biggest concern, her health and her happiness.

Ok, now you all know what to do! I want to read your answers to this question! So, is there anyone in YOUR lives that you would risk your life for? Why or why not? Let's get this discussion going in the comments section my friends...

a guest post from "delysia lafosse"...

Sometimes people like to rant. Sometimes it is hard to rant on your own blog because people get up on their high horses and say things that piss you off even more. OR the person you want to rant about may read your blog so therefore you keep it to yourself...that is where having other blog pals comes into the picture. A dear Internet Bff was having an issue and wanted to vent...anonymously...I said, "Girl, feel free to take over my blog." So that is what she did...I present to you the very first 'Always Alexandria Anonymous Guest Post'...enjoy! Also, to Ms. Delysia Lafosse...I. Freaking. Love. You. No lie.

{Written By: 'Delysia Lafosse'}
Of course this post will be about boys and dumb girls. Of course this post will take all of me to write, and write well. When I get heated about a topic I get sloppy in my writing, then it all goes to hell. I hope for you, and for Alex’s blog this goes smoothly. It all started when I was cuddling close to a guy watching another movie with Jack Black in it. You might not believe me when I say it wasn’t The Holiday, moving on... This boy was hotter than hot can be. No lying about it. Scruffy, but well kept. Stocky but muscular, and oh how I wanted to kiss him all over!! So, being the girl I am I decided that I would, far ahead of anything else, tell myself that if the opportunity presented itself I would mack on this boy and never regret a single moment. Of course, with my good luck the boy was sick with a slight cold and had told me that no, he couldn’t kiss me, for fear he would get me sick. I stuck with the proven fact and tried to forget about it... until he started kissing my neck.

Now, let me break for a moment here and say. Why oh why? I have no control in that area, NONE. I wonder if he was just testing me. Well, if he was... I lost. I turned over and eventually kissed that boy on the lips, because honestly.. I didn’t care if I got sick. (Which I didn’t by the way.) It wasn’t much of a kiss either, it was more of a, dang-I-wish -you-weren’t-sick-and-that-we-were-alone-so-this-was-better. Either way though, I reached my goal, and even though it might seem desperate.. I don’t care.
So what is the problem with this whole situation? Before this night this hot piece of a man was texting my roommate and asking her to hang out that night. He came over and sat next to her to begin with, while I joked before about how he wanted her, and how if she had the chance, she should kiss him. I guess it didn’t really work out like that. My friend wasn’t mad because she constantly would mention how she thought he wasn’t that good looking, or that he wasn’t her type. I just said “OKAY” in a sarcastic way because not only is this boy hawt to everyone, he sort of reminds me of her ex-boyfriend, his good characteristics. I knew she would tap that if the chance came up and I don’t blame her. Anyways, with her constantly saying that he was gross, or not her type, I figured the whole situation would blow over. No, I was wrong. She had to go about and ask him what his intentions were with me and what he thought of me. Being the guy he is, he said he didn’t know me well enough and just thought it was a “whatever” sort of thing. I completely agree. Even though this boy is hawt, hawt, hawt, he has heartache written all over him.

The days go by and my friend is constantly talking about him, dissecting his words when we are alone, and saying “he likes you, I can tell”. News flash honey!! Him liking me is going to get me no where. It feels great to cuddle next to him every-other-night and just have someone to be next to, but it really means nothing to me. Last night after he left she says “He is such a player.” I said, “Why’s that??” Then she freaks out and tells me that he was holding her hand on one side, and had his hand on my leg on the other. I asked her why she didn’t just let go of his hand... “Because that would be rude.” No darling, that would be being honest and blunt like you regularly are. You are never afraid to say no in situations like that, you want him, end of story. I didn’t really say that but I did say something like this, “ He isn’t a player. He has made it subtly clear to both of us that it is no big deal. He can cuddle with whoever he wants and not feel guilty and I give him mad props.” I’m not the kind of girl who can do that, but I’m working on it. I hear playing the game is what is in now-a-days.

On top of all of this, which isn’t even that big of a deal, but only sort of is because she makes everything a big deal, there is something else. This bugs me so bad I could just punch something. This girl is so high maintenance that it is ridiculous. Talking with her ex-boyfriend after the break up he revealed to me that, she was so chill when they first started dating. Going anywhere he wanted to go to eat, doing what he wanted, listening to his kind of music, saying “No problem” to weird situations. Then as soon as they hit a comfortable spot, BAM everything changed. “Ew disgusting!!” and gagging sounds were made at his every suggestion, she soon became very hard to please. So as we meet new people and they talk about the kind of girls they date they mention how they don’t like girls that are high maintenance. Automatically, like a lever has been switched in her brain or something, she says “I’m not high maintenance, I am soo chill.” LIE. I want to stand up and scream at her and say “LIKE HELL YOU AREN’T!” Because this girl is the hardest person to please in the world. I can’t watch TV before I fall asleep because of you, and if I even mention a food I would love to cook, your face goes crazy because you would “throw up”. Stop being a child.

Don’t get me wrong here people, I love her.. she is one of my greatest friends. Sometimes though, I wonder how it became that way. When I am with her, my opinions are mute, my words tend to disappear into oblivion because she is center stage. I’m not one to talk crap about people because I know karma is a bih. That, however has not stopped me from spilling my feelings over the internet and wanting people to see things my way. I want you all to know that, I am severely frustrated at this point and the fact that I have FINALLY gotten to publish this piece is like a load of bricks off my back.

In conclusion, thank you Alex, for so graciously providing a space for me to spill out my heart and soul. I will forever be indebted to your blogging needs because of this, and that is no lie. DANG that felt good.

craft blog news...

So this post is going to be a quickie (And yes, that does happen to be something she really hopes he does not tell her). As some of you know my internship training starts this morning and I will be locked in a room with all of these crazy psychologists for the next four days. I realize that may sound like I am less than thrilled but don't let it fool you. I am completely stoked about it. I however, am NOT thrilled about not tweeting throughout my training...but since I am an addict I had to turn off my cell updates so I would not be tempted! Don't let anything to awesome happen while I am away, ok?!
I am sure some of you have noticed I recently got a new blog design. Do we love it? I certainly do. Please, shift your gaze to the left of the computer screen and see the new button of awesome cuteness that Bastina Balicious made for the craft blog. Yes, 'Three Crafty Biiitches' now has their own button! Feel free to mosey on over there and snatch one up!
Thanks Bastina! You are a rock star! We adore it!
That is all for today my friends. Don't miss me too much while I am on a Twitter hiatus!
xoxo

alexandria's question corner...

Lately I have been a blogging fool. I think it is because tomorrow my internship training starts and then school shall soon be commencing again as well, and then my blog will go back to being neglected. I found this in my 'edit posts' archive...I had started it in December when I yoinked it from Sam. I figured today should be the day I completed it. Yeah, over a month later. I am a slacker...enjoy!

1. Were you named after anyone?
-Nope. Well, I suppose other people have the same name but my parents did not pick it for that particular reason. I just thank the Lord that my mom did not stick with her first choice name for me because then this blog would be called, “Always Justine”. Yep. Vomit.

2.When was the last time you cried?
-Yesterday. Don't judge.

3. Do you like your handwriting?
-I do. It is like a funky version of cursive/normal.

4. What is your favorite (lunch) meat?
-Salami...and yes I must...(that's what she said).

5. Do you have kids?
-No. No thank you. Unless you count my sunglasses. I love them as if they were my children.

6. If you were another person would you be friends with yourself?
-Yes. Why? Because I crack myself up sometimes...and if there were two of me I am pretty sure it would be a riot.

7. Do you use sarcasm?
-Me? Never. (psst....that was sarcasm)

8. Do you still have your tonsils?
-Yep.

9. Would you bungee jump?
-No. Freaking. Way.

10. What is your favorite cereal?
-Does Cream of Wheat count? That stuff is straight up delicious.

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
-Being that I wear flip-flops 95% of the time, and slip-on Vans 4% of the time, and Uggs 1% of the time....no.

12. First alcoholic beverage?

ten on tuesdays...

*Updated: Word to the wise...get yourself over to Amanda's blog. She has a hilarious new feature called 'Teacup Human Tuesday'. Love it with me.*
I am a blog idea thief, and I have NO shame about it. Probably because I always ask before I steal something. Such as my layout. Yes, I do know many people have this one but I totally asked permission from Sara-Jane before I used it as well! Now I am stealing this lovely little 'Ten on Tuesdays' idea from one of my longtime blog-pals Vanessa (she borrowed the idea from Roots & Rings...see we all SHARE. Just like our mamas taught us.) Anyways, over at her blog she answers ten random questions every Tuesday. Sometimes she comes up with them, other times her readers do. So I figured I would join the party...thanks for the inspiration ladies!
Ten on Tuesday...

{1.} Are you usually late, early, or right on time?
I am so that nerdy chick who is always AT LEAST ten minutes early. Normally fifteen or twenty minutes early. Why? Because if you are ten minutes early you are right on time. Srsly. I cannot stand when people are late. Probably because I am a control freak.

{2.} What is your middle name?
My middle name is Cady (pronounced like 'Katie'). It's kind of weird right? It is actually my mom's maiden name. I happen to love it because it is just a little bit different.

{3.} What are the last four digits of your cell phone number?
Hmmm...hopefully none of you are creepers who can figure out my number from this: 0268.

{4.} How big is your bed?
My bed is a full. I am in L-O-V-E with it. It is the most comfortable bed of my life. Srsly. Although, even though technically it is big enough for two I sleep like a maniac so really it is perfect for just me! Unless, some of you like being kicked in the face while sleeping then I would maybe share...anyone?...anyone?

{5.} What are you allergic to?
Everything known to man. Srsly. I am allergic to ALMOST every antibiotic on the planet...it is ridiculous when I get sick to try and find something that doesn't make my throat close up. I also have really bad pollen/grass allergies in the Spring...it makes it difficult to breathe, and then out comes the hotness that is my inhaler. Yep. Win. Cantaloupe makes my mouth swell...but I love it and normally will eat a few bites anyway.

{6.} What is the first thing you do in the morning?
Normally I jump out of bed with the quickness to make my bed, because my day cannot start properly if I have not done so. However, as of late the first thing I do is check my phone...then if a text is waiting I respond and then jump up to make my bed. I love when school is on break and I do not have to get right up and at 'em!

{7.} What was your favorite tv show when growing up?
Duh. I was born in 1985 which means I grew up in the 'Full House' era. Best show, hands down. I watched it religiously from a young age...I also may or may not sometimes still catch the reruns. Don't judge. Although, as weird as it is I totally L-O-V-E-D 'The Golden Girls'...Dorothy was my favorite. If you are wondering if I am now singing the theme song out loud...I totes am.

{8.} Will you, or did you, go to your ten year high school reunion?
Meh. I mean I loved high school and all...it was a freaking blast BUT the people who I wanted to keep in touch with from those days I do. Plus, I really don't look forward to reliving my epic mean girl status. Srsly. I was SO that girl in high school. So ten year reunion...possibly. But really how much changes in ten years? Not much. Twenty years? Now THAT is a reunion I will be attending.
{9.} If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
This argument never fails to annoy me. YES. If a tree falls there is a sound. Just because someone doesn't hear it does not mean it isn't there. In other news I hate existentialism. Truth.

{10.} What, in your opinion, is the greatest invention? (You know, since sliced bread...)
So, I would totally say the apple cutter...because it is the love o' my life. BUT Vanessa already used that one (this is why she is my friend. Totes legit.) I am going to go with the sandwich container thing. Baha. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Those special containers that are sandwich shaped and you can put your sandwich in them and they will not get dry OR soggy. Hi, I love those things...even if I feel like a five year old when I use mine. Those things are legit.

Okay so I am loving this idea. So, feel free to join in on the fun and do your own 'Ten on Tuesday' post...

i am just a tad odd...

Do y'all remember that time I blogged about my oddities? Yeah it was good times. I realized the other day that I had not even begun to cover all my little quirks. Also, I had promised that me listing out my strange ways would become a feature...so now it is! This post is going to focus on my OCD issues. Let's celebrate our quirks together...

Weird Thing #1:
Spicy food kills me. I have like the weakest spicy taste buds known to man. Which is odd because I come from a family of people who can totally handle the heat when it comes to spicy foods. Not this kid. Mild salsa makes me feel as though I just chugged a gallon of gasoline and tossed a match in my mouth. No lie. I have always been this way. However, it does not stop me from ordering food that I know will make my throat feel like Edwards' when he is inhaling the smell of humans (I just out-geeked myself. Stellar.) Anywho, on Saturday after going to see 'Avatar' I went out to eat with Bastina and my brother. I ordered the same thing I always get, honey-chipotle-chicken-crisper-tacos-of-epic-lovely-deliciousness-that-make-my-mouth-burn-for-hours-after. Yep. That is what I ordered. Even though I knew they would slay my mouth, I still consumed them. I have no regrets. They were fabulous...

Weird Thing #2:
I read A LOT. I mean I take a book with me everywhere I go. It is one of the reasons why all of my purses are the size of small islands, I need the room for book storage! Sometimes I take two if it is a long drive. I love books. True story. Throughout the day if I am reading I will pick my book up, read a few pages, stick my paperclip back on my reserved page (paperclips are THE best bookmarks. Do not judge me) and set the book down until I feel like revisiting it. However, I always read in bed before I fall asleep and I cannot just put my paperclip on a random page and say goodnight. I have to FINISH the chapter...even if I am thisclose to falling asleep with said book on my face, the chapter MUST be finished. What happens if I do not make it to the end of the chapter? No freaking sleep. Srsly. I will be wide awake until I head back and finish things up (that's what he told her *ahem*)...

Weird Thing #3:
I am going to talk about showering now. So if cleanliness offends you...do not read ahead. Do any of you have a 'shower system'? No I do NOT mean do you own a shower...I mean do you have a routine that is set in stone that you do once in the shower? Yeah, me too. I must do my shower routine in the proper order or else my day just cannot begin. Here is how it goes: shower on, super hot water, shave, wash hair, condition hair, face wash, then body wash. If I do ANY of these steps out of their usual order...I have to repeat them. Yes, I am aware I have a mild case of OCD thankyouverymuch. (Now if you don't mind, please STOP picturing me in the shower. Kthanksbye!)...

Weird Thing #4:
The other day I was reading Bastina's fabulous new blog, "Mildly Delightful" and something she did made me literally want to jump in my car, drive the 15 minutes to her house, tie her down, and use nail polish remover on her unwilling self. What did she do that could cause this kind of reaction? She painted her fingernails and her toenails two different colors. What. The. Effspice? Okay, I know I am not the only person that thinks this is a travesty! There is no way! Bastina, I love you but for the sake of my control-freak ways and my OCD please make sure fingernails match toenails...and if they don't, do not tell me. It makes me die just a little on the inside...

Weird Thing #5:
I have a gift. It is not an awesome gift, but it is a gift nonetheless. I have been aware of this gift ever since something happened to my brain at the age of 13 and I became a compulsive neat freak. What is this freak-like gift? I have the power to know if anything in my room has been touched or moved in the slightest. No lie. Bastina has seen this in action, she can vouch for me. My friends use to always run into my house and get to my room move a few things around. They would then continue to laugh hysterically as I took one look around the room and moved everything back into it's original position. When I say they move 'things' it can be something as lame as a piece of paper and I notice. My brother Jon-than loves to play this game with me. He will go to my desk and slightly move four or five things and watch in amazement as I survey the damage and move everything back. It is a total freak show...

I think I have shared enough of my weird ways. I wouldn't want to scare too many of you off...in just one post (Well, two posts actually. If you have not read the first one I linked to, do so. It talks about how I do not have to shave my legs. Don't get grossed out before you read). Alright, folks you know the drill...leave me a comment with something weird that YOU do. Or you can make fun of me in a comment...that is ok as well!

mail time...

Oh em gee! It has been far too long since I have written letters via my blog. Those are always my favorite posts. Why? Because they are fun and they just are. So, since I was a suckfest of a blog friend to Ms. Jacki the other day (I promised to address my blog/twitter pals in a vlog, and I failed), I decided I would rectify my transgression and devote an entire 'Mail Time' post to y'all! Srsly, if I do NOT write one to you...it doesn't mean I love you any less. You are all like my imaginary children, I do not play favorites. I will definitely be doing this again and will get you in the next round! *Some of what I say may mean nothing to you, but the people they are addressed to will get it!* With that let the letters begin...
Dear Jacki, Um. Sorry I am a vlog failure. I tried to imitate 'Jackie and Debra' for you but it was not awesome. So hopefully the fact that I am writing you a letter halfway makes up for it. Have I mentioned how legit you are? I have? Well, hmm I will say it again, because I am a Vermonta and do what I want ta. You are legit. I know your life is a bit of a suckfest right now because of stupid girls making lame decisions but I am proud you have not shanked one of them yet. Proud freaking mama over here. Also, if you do decide to cut a biatch...I will be on the first flight to the 802 to bail you out of juvi. No lie. I love your face. Love, Your Older & Wiser Internet Bff
Dear Kim, You know how much I adore you and all of your 'Southern Gal Relocated' glory. Your emails, comments, and tweets never fail to make me smile. True story. One of these days we will meet and it will be epic! In my head when I read anything you write I hear it in a Paula Deen voice...just so you know. I know the hubby man is leaving soon for another deployment and that you are sad right now, and I just want to tackle hug you and make you smile. He will be back before you know it, and you will be making hilarious vlogs of him swinging his light saber (ok that totes sounds dirty, but YOU know what I mean)! Love, Your Wannabe Southern Gal
Dear Ashton, You know that you are my political soul sister. You are also my go to, "Let's Mock Sarah Palin Friend". Good times I tell you. I cannot wait until our epic chain emails of awesomeness turn into the real and fabulous trip of awesomeness. I mean really, squinty eyed pictures AND endless amounts of #dirrrtymagic. Is there anything that could be more fun? Yeah...I think not. One day you and I will protest together. Love, Your Political Soul Sister
Dear Sam, So remember that one time I spent days trying to fluster you? Good times, right? I remember that I finally reached my goal (although with which comment, I do not recall). From that little mission we became online lovahs, and I am pretty sure we are practically Twitter-Married by now. I mean I think that was set in stone when we were coined as, "The Jim and Pam of Twitter" by BBL and then awarded the fabulous hash tag of #Samandria by Shannon. Holla! I also remember the time we almost got Twitter-Divorced...sad times. Utah is going to be legit. As will our impending Vegas nuptials. Your twss jokes slay me...srsly. Love, Your Twitter Wife (and possible future real-life bride)
Dear Kellie, Our road trip to Utah will be the stuff of legends. It really will be. We will sing Glee songs, drink slushees, and eat Teddy Grahams. We will also lament about how much we miss our lovely California sunshine. Sugarland's cover of 'Sex on Fire' will be played no less then 75 times. Let's do this, Face Punch style... no doubt. Love, Your Fellow Sex on Fire Addict
Dear Lovely Lauren Leigh, I want you to quit your job and school because I miss you. Srsly. What are Ashton, Jacki, and myself suppose to do without your endless #dirrrtymagic? Ok, no I do not actually want you to do either of those things but you get my point. What can I say? The trip of awesomeness will be amazing. As will be my wedding that you are currently planning. Thank you for allowing my flamingo Vans during the lovely event. Even if that is the only input I get! Also, I promise to be your trashy drunk friend who dances like a psychopath when you get married. Why? Because I love you just THAT much! Love, Your Internet Bff & Fellow Wand Lover
Dear Alexa Mae, What can I say? You are my Name Twin. I mean really...even our last names are freakishly similar. I wish you were my hair twin. Why? Because have I mentioned how much I covet your gorgeous locks? You are an inspiration and a all around lovely and kind person. Your strength and sweetness has meant a lot to me. As have your kind emails and support. When I come to Arizona I will come bringing you Sprinkles Cupcakes. Because that is the kind of friend I am! Love, Your Name Twin
Dear Amazing Amy, Hi. Have I mentioned congratulations on your BIG news?! Oh I have. Well, I am saying it again! Congratulations! I am beyond happy for you and Fiance (formerly known as Boyfriend). You are going to make a beautiful bride! You are a doll, who made me a lovely button that I adore! Also, do you remember that time you flipped on Twitter and went after the creeper who was being mean to Kellie? Oh em gee...the most hilarious thing of my life. Amazing Amy got gangsta. Word. Love, The Girl Who Nicknamed You Amazing Amy
Dear Shelby, You know how much I adore you. I tell you all the time that I have a girl crush on you (in a totally straight way). I am so glad Provo was gifted with your awesomeness...even though I kinda wish California would be gifted with it. You are my Vlog hero. Someday I will be as stellar as you in my lamespice vlogs. When I come to Utah we are going on the hunt for Calvin. Then 'Calby' can lock it down whilst watching '500 Days of Summer'. Legit. Thank you for talking me out of my tattoo with a fabulous SNL reference. You are straight up too legit to quit. Love, The One Who Calls You Shelbster
Dear Ivy, Hi. You know how much I adore you. I have made love to the coffee you sent me every morning since I got it. It is phenomenal. You need to sell this stuff. I also am so in love with my mug...that I drink everything out of it. Thank you again! Love you big! Love, The Internet Bff Who You Will One Day Share Cupcakes With
Dear Alice, I am pretty sure we are the exact same person. Other than our opinions about In-N-Out (which, hi. is an epic twss joke). I know you are bummed a little right now but, you will make an fabulous trophy wife! You will also make me happy when you do a makeup tutorial on your blog. I will love it. As I love you. Big freaking time. Love, Your Fellow California Native
Does anyone want to know why the spacing is jacked up on this post? Yeah? Me freaking to. But I am sick of trying to fix it so figure it out! So this was fun and I am going to make this a regular feature until I get to each and EVERY single one of you. Yep. Look forward to it folks. Like I have said eleventy thousand times, I adore my blog friends. This blogging community we have is awesome. True story. Sometimes I feel ridiculous for talking about you all like we are real-life friends...but then I remember that we ARE friends. Which wins!

Have I mentioned how much I adore all of my bloggy friends? Yes? Well I am going to say it again! I freaking adore all of you! I got a fabulous gift from the lovely Ivy in the mail today. I promised when I got her gift I would open it via vlog...so I kept my word and did so! Which leads to today's vlog of me in all my 'going to the gym' glory. Thank you Ivy! I cannot wait to put all of your fabulous gifts to good use! I heart you big time! Enjoy folks...
